Mount Chilbo Biosphere Reserve is situated on the east coast of North Hamgyong Province, in the northeast of the DPR Korea. It is an area of great importance for the conservation of biodiversity with a range of 16 species of endemic plants in Korea and 30 threatened species of plants and animals. Its highlights include the rocky outcroppings of spectacular beauty and a remarkable historical heritage.
